Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Ownerstone Counsel is a professional advisory service operated by Ownerstone LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. This policy explains what happens to information you provide through ownerstone.com. It sits alongside the confidentiality commitments in our Terms of Engagement, which govern information disclosed in the course of an actual or prospective engagement.
2. The short version
We do not run advertising or marketing trackers on this Site. We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone. The S/4HANA Distress Diagnostic runs entirely in your browser and its answers are never transmitted to us. The only information that reaches us is what you deliberately send in a Confidential Assessment request or by email.
3. What we collect
The Confidential Assessment request. If you complete the assessment intake, you provide your name, title, company, email address, preferred contact method, and whatever you choose to tell us about the program — including its phase, its financial exposure and the distress indicators you select. All of it is optional; you decide what to disclose.
The S/4HANA Distress Diagnostic. The diagnostic executes entirely within your browser. Your responses are not transmitted to Ownerstone Counsel, are not stored on any server, and are discarded when you close the page. Nothing you answer reaches us unless you separately choose to send it.
Email correspondence. If you write to us, we hold that correspondence and any information in it.
Server logs. This Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare records standard technical information as part of serving and protecting the Site — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps. Those logs sit in Cloudflare’s systems on its standard retention cycle; we do not export, aggregate or analyze them, and we never use them to build a profile of you.
What we do not collect. We do not use advertising trackers, marketing pixels, cross-site cookies, or third-party behavioral analytics on this Site. We do not attempt to identify anonymous visitors.
4. Why we hold it, and for how long
We use what you send us for one purpose: to respond to your inquiry and, if it proceeds, to conduct the engagement. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send unsolicited follow-up sequences.
Prospective-client information is retained only while a possible engagement is live, and thereafter for seven years, which is the period our professional, insurance and legal-record obligations require. Where an engagement does not proceed, we keep only what is needed to identify a future conflict of interest — ordinarily the company name, the date and the fact that a discussion occurred — and we delete the rest on request.
5. Who else sees it
We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose your information for anyone else’s commercial purposes. We share it only with the service providers required to operate the Site and our correspondence — web hosting and email — and only to the extent necessary to provide those services. We do not disclose the identity of prospective clients, or the existence of a discussion, to any systems integrator, software vendor or other third party.
We may disclose information where compelled by law, court order or regulatory authority. Where we are permitted to notify you before doing so, we will.
6. Confidentiality of prospective client discussions
Information disclosed during an initial consultation or assessment is treated as confidential from the first conversation, whether or not an engagement follows and whether or not a non-disclosure agreement is in place. We routinely operate under mutual NDA on request. See the Confidentiality Statement in our Terms of Engagement.
This matters more than usual in our work: the fact that a Board is seeking independent counsel on a distressed program is itself sensitive information. We treat it that way.
7. Security
The Site is served over TLS, with HTTPS enforced. When you submit the assessment form it is sent to a small function running on Cloudflare’s network, which checks the submission and turns it into a single email to assessments@ownerstone.com. That function keeps no database and writes nothing to storage: it reads your submission, sends the email, and retains nothing. The email itself is delivered by Resend, an email provider acting on our instructions, which holds delivery records for a limited period as any mail service does. Your submission does not go to a CRM, a marketing platform or a lead-generation service, and it is not used to build a profile of you. From there it sits in our access-controlled mailboxes and is handled under section 4. If the function is unavailable, the form falls back to opening a message in your own mail client instead, which you then send yourself. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If you have information you consider especially sensitive, tell us before you send it and we will agree an appropriate channel.
8. Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@ownerstone.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the Georgia and other US state privacy statutes, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, or Canadian provincial legislation; we will honor those rights where they apply to you.
You are never required to provide any information to use this Site. Every page is readable without submitting anything.
9. Children
This Site is directed to business professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. International visitors
Ownerstone Counsel operates from the United States, and information you send us is processed there. If you contact us from outside the United States, you are sending your information to a US recipient.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes take effect on posting to this page, and the “Last Updated” date will reflect the change.
